Mascara Magic

One of my newest obsessions is this mascara by Bourjois. It is called the 'Volumizer' and it is amazing! There are 2 steps to this mascara. The first is to separate the lashes and then the second is to add more mascara and volume. Personally I only use step 1 as this applies just the right amount of mascara for me and step 2 leaves my lashes a little clumpy. If I'm going for a night out and want more drama on the lashes, then I would probably use both steps, it's just personal preference. This mascara leaves my lashes looking lovely and long and thick. You don't get any fallout under the eye which is something that really annoys me with some other mascaras. It has a bristle brush which is my favourite kind of mascara wand, and use only need a few swipes to get the desired effect! I think this is a great product as you can tailor it to yourself. You can either go for lovely defined lashes, or you can add more volume and intensity if you need to!
(Available from Bourjois for £10.49)

Princess Perfume

Let me first start by saying I'm not a huge perfume fan. I have a couple that I like and usually just stick too. I don't wear perfume everyday, usually I prefer to still have the scent of my shower gel and body lotion on my skin. However, when I do wear a fragrance, I like it to be fresh, fruity and sweet. I'm not overly into florals but I don't mind subtle hint. My newest perfume was bought for me by my lovely boyfriend and it is from L'Occitane's new 'Cherry Princess' range. I have lusted after this perfume since it was launched. The name drew me in at first but once I smelt it I knew I had to have it. This may sound strange but I'm not a big fan of the smell of cherry, however, this fragrance is so light and fresh, it is not overpowering at all. It reminds of fresh, spring days and leaves me feeling really feminine and girly. On the back of the box the smell is described as "a floral and fruity fragrance that blends delicious cherry notes with a bouquet of delicate flowers." This is definitely going to be my signature scent for the upcoming spring/summer months.
(Available from L'Occitane for £29)

Sheen and shine

Another post, another lipstick! This time it's one from the No.7 range in Boots. I wasn't planning on buying this but when I purchased one of my Real Techniques brushes (post coming soon) the cashier gave me a £5 off No.7 voucher, so I thought I'd have a little look. The words that caught my eye, in the lipstick section, were 'sheer temptation'. I'm a big fan of sheer lipsticks as really strong, bold lips don't tend to suit me but I still like to have some colour on my lips. On a side-note I can't wait to try the new Revlon lip butters and this reminds me of them. These are described on the Boots website as being a part lip-balm with moisturising properties. Who doesn't love a 2 in 1 product?! I swatched lots of the shades but settled on 'tempt' which is a lovely raspberry red with a subtle hint of glitter. This gives the lips a nice flush without being too bright and overpowering. It leaves your lips feeling lovely and soft and not at all dry. I'm definitely going back for more colours. Take advantage of the voucher if you can get your hands on one!
(Available from No.7 at Boots for £10 or £5 with a voucher)

Crystal clear

My new favourite lipstick/lip tint of the moment is this latest offering by Topshop. It is part of their new 'Sisters of the new moon' collection which has just been released. When I first saw this lipstick, I was scared! It is a bright, leaning towards fluroescent, pink with glitter in it! But fear not, once applied to the lips, it creates a unique, flattering pink tint. Some of the glitter does transfer but only mildly and usually comes off after a while. For me, the tint stays on the lips for a long time, even after drinking and eating. I usually only need to re-apply this twice a day. It gives quite a matte finish so you could pop a clear gloss over the top if you wanted it to be glossier. I definitely recommend you give this a try as it comes out nothing like how it looks. The shade will slightly differ on everyone because it reacts to your skin to create your perfect, pink colour. This is a must-have for the upcoming spring/summer months! ('Crystal' is £9 from Topshop)

(the colour is showing up a little brighter on camera. It is more of a soft, pink flush)

Ice, ice, baby

I'm a little late with this post, but I had to share this amazing MAC eye-shadow with you. It is from the recent 'Glitter and Ice' collection, which was released just before christmas, in the shade 'fresh ice'. I was really excited to try a mineralize eye-shadow and I am amazed by this one. It gives a lovely soft pink/white glow to the eyelid. It is perfect worn alone to brighten the eye, but I usually wear it with a slightly darker pink, crease colour. It can also be used as a highlighter to give a lovely sheen to the cheekbones and brow bone. The colour blends really well and lasts all day when applied over a eye primer. I would definitely recommend this colour if you can get your hands on it and I shall definitely be purchasing more mineralize eye-shadows!

Blush baby

Another day, another blush obsession. My current fave is this offering from the Natural Collection which is available from Boots. The best part is, it only costs £1.99. I have the colour 'pink cloud' and it is the most gorgeous, soft pink blusher that gives you a really healthy, natural pop of colour to the cheeks. The powder is really pigmented and has amazing staying powder. I don't wear foundation and even applied to bare cheeks, it lasts all day.

I use a Bobbi Brown 'blender' brush to just gently apply it to the apple of my cheeks for a slight pink flush. It is perfect for my pale skin and doesn't look too false. The packaging is quite cheap and the pan actually has come out of the packaging on my one, but if you de-pot your blushers then this shouldn't be a problem if the same thing happens to you. For £1.99 you get more than your moneys worth, I will definitely be trying other shades in the collection.

What are your thoughts on this blush and the Natural Collection range?

Flower power

As you already know, I LOVE L'Occitane hand-cream. My favourite is the original shea butter version, but their other scented versions leave an amazing scent on your hands.

This month with the March issue of 'Easy Living' you get a voucher for a FREE L'Occitane vanilla flower hand-cream. Just cut out the voucher and take it to your nearest store and the usually £7.50 priced cream is yours. The magazine is also on a special offer costing just £2! I've been told stocks are limited so be as quick as you can!

The vanilla flower is a gorgeous warming scent. It smells like it sounds. The vanilla makes it sweet and warming whilst the flower part gives it a slight edge. The fragrance lingers on your hands for ages after applying and leaves your hands feeling nourished and moisturised.
