Sweet Tart
Just a quick post to show you another shade from the Revlon lip butter range. This one is called 'sweet tart' and is the perfect, bright pink for summer! If you're wary of bright colours this is the perfect place to start. It can be applied lightly and then if you dab your lips with a tissue it leaves a lovely rosebud stain behind! But, if you're feeling more daring, this can be built up to a lovely, eye-catching pink. This shade is not as sheer as some of the others in the range so perfect for those of you wanting a strong colour without having to apply lots of product.
Honey balm
Throughout the winter I've suffered with really bad, dry cuticles. Part of it is my fault as I only really apply hand cream to the back of my hands and not around the nail area because I find it dulls my nail varnish (I could just be imagining that!). I also don't like cuticle oils as I don't like the greasy feeling they leave behind. So, basically my cuticles have been neglected and are in serious need of attention. On a recent trip to L'Occitane I noticed they had a couple of new products with a honey scent. I absolutely love their honey scent! They used to make an amazing shower gel but unfortunately they dis-continued it! I was so happy to see they had brought the scent back in the way of a hand cream and their famous solid shea butter. I've tried the original shea butter before and remembered it being really nourishing for my skin. So, I purchased the honey shea butter in the little tin with the sweetest illustration on the front! This has totally transformed my cuticles! I put it on at night before I go to bed and it doesn't leave my hands greasy or sticky but just really nourished. My cuticles look healthier and are no longer dry. The scent is also lovely and even though it smells like honey, it is not too sweet and sickly.
I would definitely recommend this product for those of you who suffer with any dry patches. you can apply this anywhere and it leaves skin feeling extremely moisturised and nourished!

Macaroon magic
I'll admit it...I've gone slightly crazy for the Revlon lip butters. Since getting my first two last week I have been on the hunt for more ever since. There seems to have been some delay in these being available from Boots store and my local one actually only has testers! I gave in, paid the postage and ordered the ones I wanted from Boots.com. They have now changed their deals from 2 for £10 to 3 for 2 which i shandy if you are wanting to buy a few different shades.
The shade I'm sharing with you today is 'Macaroon'. This is only available in the UK which is one of the reasons I wanted this! I would describe the colour as a dark red/pink shade with a subtle gold shimmer. It looks really flattering on the lips and not at all harsh. Depending on your lip colour, this could be a 'your lips but better' shade. Also if you are wary of red lipsticks this could be a great way to ease yourself into trying them.
As usual the formula is extremely moisturising on the lips and this shade leaves a lovely sheen. I'm suffering with a cold at the moment so have very dry lips and this product left them feeling very nourished and definitely didn't leave them looking dry.
Have you tried this shade or any of the lip butters yet?

L'Occitane Cherry Princess
A few posts back, I shared with you my newest perfume addition, 'Cherry Princess' by L'Occitane. When I purchased the perfume (or should I say, when my boyfriend did) the store was running an offer by where if you bought the perfume and another product, you would get a free gift. So, I opted for the matching 'Cherry Princess' hand cream which I had been testing ever since it had arrived in store! It has, of course, the same amazing scent as the perfume but also a lovely, light consistency. It sinks straight into the hands without leaving them sticky or greasy. As much as I love the L'Occitane shea butter hand cream, I only tend to use it at night as it can be a little sticky. The cherry princess one is perfect to carry in your handbag to be applied anytime your hands feel dry!
Now, onto the free gift, which I must say I found really impressive! The products came contained in a lovely white make-up bag covered in little cherry prints. It's the perfect size to keep in your handbag or if you're travelling. Inside you get 75ml of the pearlescent shower cream, 75ml of the silky body gel and 10ml of the cherry blossom hand cream. The shower gel is amazing! It smells lovely and the pearlescent texture leaves the skin looking glowing. The body gel is equally as good. As it is a gel it is very light but still very moisturising. It doesn't sit on the skin and you can get dressed straight away after using it. I love to wash in the shower gel, moisturise with the body gel and then spritz myself with the perfume! The small size of the hand cream is perfect to pop in your handbag! The cherry blossom fragrance is slightly stronger than cherry princess and not as sweet but equally just as nice!

Sunday's face of the day
Just a quick post to show you the products I used for a nice meal out for Mothers Day
Products shown:
Liz Earle Skin tint in shade beige (I'm usually the fairest shade but I mixed this with my moisturiser and the colour was perfect!)
Nivea daily essentials light moisturising day cream (normal/combination skin)
Maybelline 24hr color tattoo (permanent taupe)
Bourjois volumizer mascara
Yves Saint Laurent touche eclat
Natural Collection blush (pink cloud)
Real techniques blush brush
Yves Saint Laurent Volupte sheer candy lipstick (9- Cool guava)
Maybelline Color Tattoo
They have finally arrived in the UK! If like me, you have been eyeing these up on YouTube, you will be glad to know they have now arrived in most Superdrugs and Boots! The names are different to those in America which is a little confusing. I desperately wanted 'tough as taupe' but none of the colours available in the UK are called that. So, I went for '40-Permanent Taupe' which I think is the same colour? but just a different name?
I'm not going to do a full review now as I haven't properly tested this out but I just wanted to let you know that these are now available if you wanted to pick one up! I have used this once and so far am impressed. In the pot it looks a very light, 'putty' shade but once you dip your finger in and apply it, it is definitely a taupe shade. I apologise for the last picture because I did use this before I had taken the picture! However, the centre bit you can see where I have swatched it, probably gives a more true colour! I think for £4.99 these are worth a try.
A full review will be on the way soon!

Hush, hush
This is just a quick post today as I know I have featured a lot of lip products recently and have already reviewed a different shade of tendertone. However, I just had to share this MAC tendertone in 'Hush hush'. It is an amazing soft gold with a slight shimmer. It is perfect for layering over lipsticks or even just worn alone for a subtle sheen on the lips! The smell of the tendertones is lovely (strawberry/kiwi) and they leave lips feeling so smooth and moisturised. If you can get your hands on this shade or 'tread gently' before they disappear, I would definitely recommend them!

Spring is in the air...
Spring is just around the corner, and I don't know about you, but when the sun comes out, I want a bright and fresh colour on my nails. I love my dark nail varnish colours but I just don't feel right wearing them in the Spring/Summer months. Essie have answered my polish prayers with this new 'resort' collection containing 4 perfect shades for these upcoming warmer months. The set contains two light, pastel colours and 2 more vibrant shades.
The shade I am currently wearing is 'She's picture perfect' which is an amazing light, lavender. It is shot through with a pink shimmer which is lovely when the light hits it.
The second lighter shade is 'Pink-a-boo' which is a baby pink with pink/purple iridescent glitter running through it. This is a perfect shade for those that just want a hint of colour on the nails but still want a slight sparkle. Iridescence is a big trend in clothes this Spring/Summer so this will match perfectly.
The third colour is a bright metallic pink shade called 'Sure shot'. This is the perfect colour for toes when we start braving sandals and flip flops! The metallic edge to this polish gives it an amazing shine and brightening effect when worn.
The fourth colour is a deep purple shade called 'No more film.' This is the darkest polish in the set and I would say this is a great transitional colour. If you're not quite ready to let go of your deep, dark colours, you can edge yourself into the lighter shades with this one! As this one is a cream, you could add a clear sparkle over the top to make it feel more appropriate for the warmer weather.
I think these Essie collections are brilliant for trying out lots of different colours without committing yourself to a large bottle. I purchased this set from Liberty's in London for just £9.95 which is the same price as ONE large bottle!

Revlon lip butters are here!
(Candy apple on lips)
The Revlon lip butters have landed! After much hype and months of coveting these, I finally have my hands on a couple of shades. There was some confusion as to when these were being released via Boots.com (I think they are now officially available today) but I managed to secure my order late Thursday night.
If you haven't heard about the Revlon lip butters, they are basically a mix between a lipstick and lip balm. The UK has 14 different shades available ranging from the lightest pink to a rosy red. Some of the shades, from what I have seen, are very sheer, whilst others have a more build-able, intense colour. The light colours seem very sheer and look perfect for days when you just want a quick, subtle hint of colour on the lips.
The first two I have (I will be purchasing more once they come into stores) are 'Candy Apple' and Strawberry Shortcake). And yes, they do live up to their hype...they are amazing! They are extremely moisturising on the lips, like a lip balm, and, unlike some other lipsticks, are not at all drying. They feel really comfortable on the lips and have a good staying power!
'Candy Apple' is my first venture into red lip products. Harsh, strong colours do not really suit me. This shade, however, is perfect. As it is a mix of lipstick and lip balm, it's not bold and overpowering. It is quite sheer if you apply a thin layer but can be more intense if you build it up. I applied mine straight onto my lips from the stick, with no lip liner, and it stayed put!
The second colour I have is 'Strawberry Shortcake'. This is a gorgeous, soft pink shade. It is lovely and creamy and applies so smoothly to the lips. It is almost a milky pink which I find is more flattering on my skin-tone rather than a 'Barbie' type pink. This again can be applied quite sheer or built up for a slightly stronger colour.
These lip butters have no scent, which I personally find to be a plus. I love the packaging with the quilted texture on the side of the tube. Overall I am really impressed with the Revlon lip butters and am so glad with the two colours I chose. When they hit the stores I'm going back for 'Creme Brulee' and 'Berry Smoothie'.
Let me know if you pick any of these up and which colours you go for!

Korres Lip Butter
I seem to have developed a lip product obsession recently! My latest purchase is a cult classic...Korres lip butter. I've been wanting to try one of these for a long time but wasn't too sure where I could get my hands on them. I found them on feelunique.com but they weren't in stock. I did however browse through all the different 'flavours' they come in and settle on pomegranate. I managed to pick this one up in Liberty's in London. They also had wild rose but that seemed a very dark, cherry which I'm not sure would have suited me.
I read a few reviews on these lip butters on makeupalley.com and the feedback was definitely mixed. A lot of people loved the product but not the packaging (personally I don't mind the pot) and most people commented on the smell of the lip butter. I was worried about getting a scented lip product as I am not a fan of overpowering products where the smell lingers for ages after application. I don't find this to be the case with the lip butter at all. To be honest, I don't find it has any smell at all! There's a slight hint of a smell which I'd be hard pushed to describe, but you can only notice it if you put your nose really close to the pot! I can't speak for the other scents but, to me, pomegranate does not have a strong smell!
The feel of the lip butters on the lips is amazing! It goes on so smooth and leaves your lips feeling really moisturised without feeling sticky. Pomegranate gives a lovely, peachy sheen to the lips and even after the 'gloss' has worn off, the lips are left with a very pale stain.
I would definitely recommend giving these a go! I think I'm going to try the 'Jasmine' variety next!

Tread Gently
I was so excited to hear that MAC were re-releasing tendertones! I have never tried them before but after hearing the hype about them on blogs and YouTube, I knew I had to get my hands on one. I know the website has sold out of most colours but you may be able to still pick one up in stores. They are part of the new 'Cook MAC' collection.
I got the colour 'tread gently' which is an amazing yellow with a shimmer. They smell good enough to eat, a mixture of strawberry and kiwi! They apply so well and give a lovely soft, sheen to the lips whilst leaving them moisturised and hydrated. I have only tried this on bare lips so far but I'm definitely going to layer it over the top of some of my lipsticks to give them a lovely shimmer and gloss. I'm a big fan of the glass jar they come in as it makes them feel more special than a regular lip balm.
